COMICS GALLERY
At one point, it was decided that INK should have produced and enclosed small comics, and this is how our adventure with Mr. W.H. Grungle started; he was the first known character to appear in our magazine.
This funny man with a moustache firstly appeared in the pages of 1984 in the 1980s, that is in Roberto Anghinoni’s texts and Paolo Telloli’s drawings. As Paolo did not have enough time for such a demanding activity, he proposed us to work for it, giving us free reign. We freely changed the character’s traits and we thought of a setting that owes quite a lot to Moebius and Alfonso Font, but in a new light that reminded people of the classic black and white comedy movies. This resulted in our most appreciated work by anyone who had a look at the pages of INK. It’s probably also the work we enjoyed doing most. The scene with the supersonic tortoise still makes me laugh, after several years!
