The Mosaik publishing house represents our first work experience abroad. It all began when the screenwriter Sergio Tulipano travelled to Frankfurt for a book fair and met the comic magazine’s publishing director. Mosaik was founded in the former East Germany and, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, had expanded the bussiness into West Germany. The product had had such a great success to be a problem: their authors could not keep up with all the latest editorial issues that the publishing house was raising. That’s how what might be called Mosaik Italia was founded: a real creative publishing house branch on Italian soil. Thanks to it, we got in touch with the world of the Abrafaxe, an acronym which stands for the names of the three characters: Abrax, Brabax, and Califax. We kept busy with the creation of many comic strips with a conclusion that had to be published in daily newspapers, with a couple of issue numbers of the new series in comics, and finally with a Franco-Belgian hardcover comic.
